What happens at a Lissim session?
Many features of your session with a Lissim teacher will be similar to having a consultation with other types of therapist, but there are some essential differences. Here's what to expect:
- The Lissim teacher will ask you about the complaint you are seeking help with, and about any medical problems you have and medications you take.
- You will then be given practical instruction in using the technique, a schedule for using Lissim at home and ideas for recording your progress, which your teacher will discuss with you at your next session.
- Lissim is mainly intended as a self-help technique, so it is helpful to think of a Lissim consultation as a course of instruction rather than just a treatment. However, Lissim teachers are happy to treat areas of pain that you cannot reach or treat comfortably by yourself.
- Two sessions should be enough to get you started. We recommend booking an initial session (1 hour) plus a follow-up session (30-60 minutes) soon after (1-2 weeks later) to ensure a good grounding in the technique.
- Additional instruction, treatments or refresher sessions can be provided if you wish, and of course your Lissim teacher will always be available to answer any queries and help in the event of of any difficulties.
Charges:
-
